TRUST & ACCURACY

Can an AI Avatar Hallucinate?

Many AI systems can give confident answers that are simply wrong. A VoxaGuide avatar is built to answer only from your approved information, so it doesn't make things up.

A VoxaGuide avatar is built to answer only from your approved information, so it doesn't make things up. Every answer comes from the knowledge you provide rather than being invented by an AI model. When a question isn't covered, it says so and offers the closest questions it can answer, or points the visitor to your team.

What is an AI hallucination?

A hallucination is an answer that sounds plausible but is not supported by any real source. It happens when a generative model writes a new answer word by word and fills gaps with the most likely-sounding wording, even when the facts are missing.

For a public-facing avatar this matters. A visitor cannot tell a confident wrong answer from a correct one, and the answer is delivered by a character that represents your organisation.

How VoxaGuide stays accurate

VoxaGuide works from the information your organisation approves: pages, FAQs, documents and other content you choose. Answers are taken from that approved information rather than generated freely, so the avatar does not invent prices, dates, policies or people.

What happens when it doesn't know?

Visitors ask questions nobody planned for. When a question is not covered by the approved information, the avatar says so. It can offer the closest questions it can answer, or point the visitor to your team, rather than guessing.

Keeping answers current

Accuracy also depends on the information itself. When a price, opening time or procedure changes, the approved information is updated and the avatar answers from the new version. Conversation insights help here: questions the avatar could not answer show where information is missing.

Test with real questions

Real users do not ask questions in the tidy language found in a specification. Testing with realistic questions shows which answers are clear, which questions need more information and where the avatar should hand over to a person.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can a VoxaGuide avatar hallucinate?

It is built not to. Answers come only from your approved information, so it doesn't make things up.

What if a visitor asks something it doesn't know?

It says it doesn't have that information and offers the closest questions it can answer, or points the visitor to your team.

Can it say things we haven't approved?

No. The avatar answers from the information you approve, and you decide what it is allowed to use.

How do we keep its answers up to date?

Update the approved information. The avatar then answers from the new version.
